Beverly Hills is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Located within 5.71 square miles and surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood. The city is home to many celebrities, luxury hotels, and the Rodeo Drive shopping district.
Beverly Hills has many nicknames: “Garden Spot of the World,” “B.H.,” “Bev Hills,” “90210,” “The Hills”.
In 1906, a group of oil executives didn’t find oil, instead found water. They reorganized as the Rodeo Land and Water Company, renamed the property “Beverly Hills,” subdivided it, and began selling lots. The development was named “Beverly Hills” after Beverly Farms in Beverly, Massachusetts.
